MPLS Bridging Programme
The Programme is designed for all students due to embark on undergraduate degrees in Physics, Physics and Philosophy, Chemistry, Engineering Science, Earth Science and Materials Science. It is run by the Mathematical, Physical and Life Science (MPLS) Division which is one of the academic divisions of the University. You are strongly encouraged to study the programme before you arrive in Oxford. However, it is appreciated that colleges and/or departments might also send out preparation work for you to do which should be prioritised.
There are five separate courses: Maths Bridging Programme, Chemistry Bridging Programme, Physics Bridging Programme, Computing and Study Skills, and Laboratory Work. The Computing and Study Skills and Laboratory Work courses are relevant for all of you but the parts of the other three programmes that are relevant to you depends on your degree. So before you start please read the relevant advice document below for your degree (updated for 2024 starters). Please also read the Introduction to online study and using Moodle below. If you encounter any errors in the courses please let us know via bridging@mpls.ox.ac.uk and we will look to fix them for the 2025 programme.
